Description

Tahini is sesame seeds, ground into a fine paste much like peanut butter. It can be found in jars in the natural foods or peanut butter section of many supermarkets, or at organic food stores.

Instructions
  1. Blend the tahini and lemon juiceIn a food processor, combine the tahini and lemon juice and process it until it is well mixed and creamy.
  2. Add the chickpeasAdd half of the drained and rinsed chickpeas, and blend them until the mixture is smooth, scraping down the sides of the food processor with a rubber spatula as necessary. Add the remaining chickpeas and blend the mixture again until it is smooth.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredientsAdd the garlic, salt, and olive oil and blend the hummus for several minutes. Add the water, a tablespoon at a time, to get a nice creamy consistency. You may need to add more than 2 tablespoons.
  4. Garnish and serveSpoon the hummus out into a serving bowl and sprinkle it with the paprika.
